Currently the SPCA Selangor, along with other animal protection organisations, are lobbying the government of Malaysia to stop the construction of an animal testing laboratory in Malacca, Malaysia. The proposal is from a collaboration between the Indian contract testing company, Vivo Bio Tech and the State government-owned Melaka Biotech. Should this go ahead there will be immense suffering, misery and death for thousands of animals in Malaysia. Please help support SPCA Selangor in this campaign by writing to the Malaysian government.
Universal Declaration of Animal WelfareThe future of animal welfare lies in achieving international recognition that animals matter. WSPA is seeking this in the form of a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare: an agreement among people and nations to recognise that animals are sentient and can suffer, to respect their welfare needs and to end animal cruelty – for good.
For a Bullfighting-Free EuropeBullfighting takes place in only nine countries around the world. The bullfighting industry claims that it is the world's most cultural "fiesta" but culture can never justify animal cruelty. Cruelty against animals has no place in a modern society. This campaign is run by an alliance of eleven animal protection organisations working for a "bullfighting free Europe".
